1. Day 2: Living Below The Line

    Day 2: 10/16/13

I waited until 1 or 2 to eat today, I had a normal meal and I probably stayed under the food stamp price The only thing that was kind of expensive in my meal was the meat and the parmesan, although considering the amount used versus the price, I probably still stayed under. I didn’t wear any make up and I left my a/c off. Thankfully my pet didn’t have too much of an issue with the fan being off otherwise I would’ve had to figure out something else to do to exemplify extreme poverty.

  2. Day 1: Living Below The Line

    Day 1: 10/15/2013

So I lived on 66 cents today, two packets of ramen noodle, and I’ve decided that I am no longer doing the food part of this challenge, not even the food stamps level. I’ve finally gotten used to actually eating healthy, I refuse to go and make myself sick again. Therefore I won’t wear make-up and I’ll leave my fan in my room off seeing as I can’t actually turn off the a/c because I live with three other people. I would sleep on the floor as well but I already have too many joint issues when I sleep in bed as it is.

  3. Living Below the Line

Today I have started living below the line, a project where you live at the line of extreme poverty for 5 days. In the United States that line is $1.50 a day on food. The SNAP line, where many choose to go up to after the first day, is the food stamp line where you live on $4.50 a day on food. While this project is usually done in May we are doing this experience in my social work class. I will be posting my goals and experiences here, please feel free to join in doing this project. If you would like to join and you are not in the united states just tell me and I’ll let you know what the line of poverty is where you live. Please know that if you do decide to join don’t restrict your food if you have any health problems, or are an athlete. There are other ways to live at the line of extreme poverty.

    The World’s Most Beautiful Libraries

“Without libraries what have we? We have no past and no future.” -Ray Bradbury

For centuries, books have housed the collective knowledge of the world and formed the foundations of educational institutions. Given that these objects contain such value, it only makes sense that throughout history people have constructed beautiful buildings to house them.

We put together a list of some of the most beautiful libraries as captured by Instagrammers around the world. For more photos from these architectural wonders, check out their linked location pages below.

The first photo reminds me of M.C. Escher

Oh, my, gosh. I need to go to these. Like, yesterday. Let me just spend my whole life in these places and I think I would be almost the happiest person in the world. Just being surrounded by so much knowledge and so many far away places…So many different worlds! And lets not forget the AMAZING architecture. <3

  6. Be honest, you've cried to one of these songs before when you were young! →
